Heroic Legend
Become a hero and forge your legend.

Heroic Legend lets you embody up to three characters simultaneously within a medieval fantasy world (who may become heroes). These adventurers are completely customizable with over 1000 different items and equipment. In the world of the five kingdoms where the game’s story takes place, you can absolutely do anything you want with total freedom: travel, complete quests, smuggle, trade, hunt other players whose heads are on the bounty, lay ambushes, ...

Each character has two profession skills in addition to combat skills that they must develop: hunter, gatherer, fisherman, miner, blacksmith, tailor, animal trainer, and alchemist. You’ve probably understood that it’s impossible to practice all the trades at once and obtain all the different items that make up the game. Player-to-player trade and diplomacy between guilds, combined with taverns, the roleplay forum, and other aspects of the game, contribute to creating an interactive and dynamic community.

But the key strength of the free role-playing game Heroic Legend is that everyone really has a chance to reach the top of the leaderboard. No matter their experience in the game, it's possible to become a war lord, feared and respected by all.

A clever aging (and also equipment wear) system, various illnesses, and war wounds will naturally complicate the lifespan of your adventurers, contributing to the recalibration of the leaderboard. But don't panic, it will take several months before your hero gets gray hair. In addition to that, potions of youth and other special powers will delay the date of his death even further. Thanks to knowledge potions, some of the character's gains will not be lost and can be assimilated by a new recruit.

In the meantime, each of your heroes will live their own adventures and write their own story in the game. They might manage to mark their passage and engrave their legend in the minds of future generations of adventurers or in a dusty book from the library of Fort-de-Val. Perhaps the legend will tell how they made a fortune in horse trading or in arms trafficking? Or perhaps how they managed to conquer the entirety of the five kingdoms under the leadership of their guild?

  • How do you play Heroic Legend?

Nothing could be simpler or faster. First, you must register for free on the game, using the registration form available on the homepage. Once this is completed, you simply log in by entering your credentials correctly at the login panel to the left of the site. Let the adventure begin!

The game is free and fully playable online without any downloads.

  • How do you get action points (AP)?

Action points allow you to perform all sorts of actions within the game (travel, create objects, wage war, etc.). You automatically receive 5 action points every hour, up to a maximum of 100 action points at once. The ‘Heroes’ Guild bonus allows you to gain 6 action points per hour for 10 days instead of 5. All these action points are cumulative. Action points not used one day will still be valid the next day and so on. Example: If I leave the game and return two hours later, I'll have 10 additional action points on my counter. And if I don't log in for 3 days, I'll receive 100 action points upon my return.

But you can also purchase action points using Gems.

  • How do you get gold pieces (GP)?

There are various ways to earn money in the game. You can complete quests to receive a reward, trade and smuggle with all the items in the game, receive a gold piece donation from a guild member, claim a bounty reward, find a treasure, or receive a daily annuity thanks to the conquest of territories. You’ve understood, there are many ways to get rich in the five kingdoms.

  • How does one obtain Gems?

  • How does one obtain Legend Points (LP)?

You will gain a Legend Point each time one of your heroes makes their mark in history by their name. The details of the legends associated with your pseudonym are available in the player ranking. Your adventurer must die of old age to earn a Legend Point, thus rewarding a long life full of adventure. These points allow you to significantly increase the life expectancy of your subsequent heroes (in age limit and in their chance of reaching it).

  • How does the Auction System work?

It is possible to place a bounty on a person's head, in order to motivate bounty hunters to kill an opponent and complicate their passage through cities. To do this, you must locate the player in the ranking and click on the icon representing gold coins. When someone manages to eliminate an adventurer whose head is offered as a bounty, they will automatically receive the bounty.

  • How does the treasure hunt system work?

Treasure hunts are explained in the ‘Using the Game Map’ section.

  • How do you send gold coins to another player?

Gold donations between players are only possible between members of the same guild. To send gold, you must go to the ‘Guild’ page and the ‘Member’ tab. From there, all that remains is to click on the icon representing gold coins to finalize the donation.

  • How is power calculated for ranking purposes?

Power is calculated based on the overall level of all your heroes, as well as the experience gained in all skills (combat and crafts).

  • How do I change my nickname, password, or email address?

This is all possible directly on the 'My Profile' page, by clicking the link at the bottom of the site (once logged in). Changing your nickname costs 100 action points to prevent abuse. It is important to provide a valid email address; otherwise, you will be unable to recover your credentials when you need them.

  • What happens in the event of a prolonged absence?

If you no longer log into the game for a certain period, it's best to place your adventurers in a town on the game map, so they are safe from attacks until your return. Your heroes will not age, and your items will remain in perfect condition during your absence, but this will revert if your absence continues. If you haven't returned after eight months of absence, your account will be deleted from the game. In the meantime, you will receive a few reminder emails to help you not forget the adventurers who need you...

  • How do you log out of the game?

To exit the game once online, simply click the small red 'x' on the left in the bottom bar of the site.

  • How do you permanently delete my account from the game?

If you are certain of your decision, account deletion is possible directly on the 'My Profile' page. All information pertaining to you will be permanently deleted from the game.

  • How do you move on the map?

Simply click on the map to travel to any region of the five kingdoms. However, you can also use the four movement arrows located beneath the action bar on the map. The cost of the movement in action points (AP) will then be automatically deducted from your counter. The travel cost is indicated beforehand in the tooltips when hovering the map with your cursor. To reduce this cost, it is possible to provide mounts to your adventurers (horse, unicorn, ...) and also to activate the guild bonus "Spirit of the Forest". Moving on the map will allow you to find different resources depending on the region, to undertake quests and treasure hunts, to take refuge in a city, to track an enemy or even to explore and conquer the world!

  • What is the "Territories" map?

It allows you to visualize the territories owned by the various guilds in the game. However, you will only be able to see what is known to you, that is, the territories adjacent to your position and the territories owned by your guild.

  • How does one undertake a quest?

To complete a quest, you must travel to the exact location of a green banner on the map. Then, simply click the ‘Quest’ button in the action bar to the right. You will receive a reward in gold coins based on your adventurers’ combat skill and the quest itself (desertion, bounty, monster, delivery, escort, treasure, tournament, guardian, mercenary, messenger, ...). You will also gain a surprise item, experience, and reputation, but be warned, quests are not without risk for your heroes...

  • How does one undertake a treasure hunt?

  • How does one engage in smuggling?

To engage in smuggling, you must navigate to the precise location on the map indicated by a blue banner, with the requested goods in your inventory (refer to the tooltip when hovering over the map with your cursor). Then, simply click the ‘Quest’ button beneath the map. By circumventing the heavy taxes levied by the kingdoms, you'll reap enormous profits by directly selling items from your inventory this way.

  • How does one hunt dragons?

To hunt a dragon, you must navigate to the exact location on the map indicated by a gray/black banner. Then, simply click the ‘Quest’ button beneath the map. You’ll need to attempt this repeatedly to stand a chance of slaying a dragon, and relentlessly track it through the five kingdoms. It’s a good way to quickly gain reputation, and the reward upon victory is commensurate with the feat…

  • Why are Cities Special?

Cities are the only territories that belong to no one. A freezone of the kingdoms, order is maintained there by guards who prevent any combat (except in the arena). Being in town is therefore a good way to protect yourself from attacks by other players. But the guards are vigilant and will escort you to the exit if you remain there too long!

  • What is the stay tax?

To access the interior of a city, you must pay the stay tax to benefit from the protection of the city guards and a room in an inn. For budgetary reasons, you will occasionally need to sleep under the stars... The price in gold pieces of the tax is based on your power, and the number of action points requested depending on your adventurers (their kingdom of origin, the bounty on their head exceeding 5000 gold pieces or not). The tax is paid once when you enter a city, regardless of the duration of your stay.

  • The Tavern

In the tavern, you can converse with other players present in the city, but most importantly recruit adventurers! For 50 AP, you'll have a choice between 5 different adventurers, each time.

  • The Arena

You can fight monsters there as well as other players present (Each city has its own arena).

The principle is to be able to train there without risk: no one can die in the arena, and if you lose too much life, you will be pushed out.

  • The Dojo

You can allow your adventurers to specialize in the use of weapons, armor, or shields.

This specialization will allow them to be more effective, but only with the specific item!

For example, an adventurer specializing in the use of a light sword will gain a bonus if equipped with a light sword, but suffer a penalty otherwise!

  • The Temple

Within this place, you can pray and make offerings to the gods.

Gaining the favor of the gods is always interesting, especially if one of your adventurers has died, as if the sum is sufficient, the gods may decide to resurrect him...

  • How do I recruit a new adventurer?

There's no particular method. As long as you haven't reached the maximum limit of three adventurers in your party, new recruits will come to you of their own initiative. This manifests as a recruitment window appearing on your homepage, where a young, ambitious recruit presents themselves. It's up to you to accept or decline them based on the desired skills and characteristics. To recruit a character of a different race than humans, your guild must have established contact with that people through the completion of an expedition (guild quest).

  • How do I dismiss one of my adventurers?

You've had enough of seeing his face, he no longer meets your needs, or his advanced age pushes him towards a well-deserved retirement? To permanently dismiss one of your characters, simply click the small red 'x' on the frame displaying your heroes on the homepage (You'll retain all his equipment in your inventory).

  • How do I change the name or description of my adventurer?

To modify a character, simply click on the small pencil icon next to their current name in the box presenting your hero on the homepage.

  • How do I change the order of adventurers on the homepage?

To raise or lower the box presenting one of your heroes and thus change their appearance order on the page, simply click on the white arrows next to the red cross. This can be very useful, as the first character is considered the leader and their avatar will represent you in the rankings, messages, taverns, ... Or in the case of the guild bonus 'Cup of the Gods,' which allows you to slow down aging for the hero in first position on your page for 20 days.

  • How do I equip or unequip an adventurer with an item?

To equip an item to your character, provide them with weapons or a mount, you must go to your inventory and click on the black icon next to the desired item (it will then turn green to inform you that it is worn by the hero). Clicking on the icon again (now green) will unequip the character from the item (it will revert to black). Similarly, they will drink a potion or eat a ration.

  • How do I change my character's gender or skin color?

To alter your character's physical appearance, you must use alteration potions or metamorphosis potions.

Each character possesses within the game three statistics and three skills that are unique to them. They are symbolized by colored bars (varying from 0 to 100%) that will evolve throughout the hero’s life, depending on their actions and experience gained. An adventurer is therefore characterized by three statistics (health, reputation, and experience), a basic combat skill, then by choosing a level 1 and a level 2 profession.

  • Statistics:

Health, Reputation, Experience

  • Basic Skills:

Combat

  • Level 1 Professions:

Chasseur, Cueilleur, Pêcheur and Mineur

  • Level 2 Professions:

Forgeron, Couturier, Dresseur and Alchimiste

  • What are the origins of my hero?

Each character hails from one of the five kingdoms. This signifies nothing more than their place of birth, and does not necessarily imply allegiance to the corresponding guild or that they fight on behalf of that kingdom. It is simply the kingdom of your hero’s origin. Their lineage naturally predisposes them to an easier learning curve in certain skills.

Here is the list of peoples and their origins within the kingdoms:

  • Introducing the statistic: Health

This represents your hero’s health. The red bar at 100% indicates they are in perfect condition. At 0%, they die! It decreases when injured by an enemy, when facing the dangers of a quest, or due to illness. To heal them, simply administer a healing potion, a life elixir, a miracle potion, or even something directly from your inventory – meat, fish, fruit, etc.

  • Introducing the statistic: Reputation

Reputation is earned by completing quests, defeating enemies, or concocting an 'Elixir of Heroes' crafted by an experienced alchemist. When the bar reaches 100%, it allows the guild to gain 1% reputation before resetting to 0% to begin its ascent anew. Thanks to the reputation points earned by guild members, the guildmaster and lieutenants can purchase powerful guild bonuses. There are 10 available and stackable choices that will benefit all guild members once activated (the 'Celebrity Bonus,' for example, can double reputation gains for 10 days during quest completion).

  • Introducing the statistic: Experience

The green bar represents overall experience gained and is obtained by performing various actions in the game. When it reaches 100%, your hero levels up. The more your hero evolves, the more difficult it becomes to gain experience. Character level plays a significant role in combat resolution calculations and directly impacts your power. There are several experience potions that allow for even faster evolution. The guild bonus 'Magical Talisman' improves experience gain upon leveling up.

  • Introducing the statistic: Combat

This is your hero's skill in wielding weapons and moving in armor. There's no secret to mastering this discipline, it requires practice! Certain attire provides a significant additional bonus to the combat skill, as do some traveling companions (dogs, wolves, panthers, etc.). The guild bonus 'Bracelet of Strength' improves experience gain in the combat skill. Adventurers from the Northern Clan and the Pirate Territory are predisposed to becoming formidable warriors more quickly.

Based on the equipment your adventurer wears, you will assign them an attack and defense rating which will appear in the following format:

Attack 12-30 (20%)
Indicating a base attack of 12 and a 20% chance to score a critical hit of 30.
Armor 17-50 (5%)
This indicates a defense of 17 and a 5% chance to perform a defensive parry of 50.

  • How to hunt, fish, forage, mine, or train an animal?

At least one of your adventurers must have the necessary skill in the field, and you must click the corresponding button on the game map's action bar. These actions use a certain number of action points and allow you to obtain a wide variety of items of all kinds. Be mindful of your location on the map, you won't find the same things on the ice cap as in the desert. Your skills will determine the number of items found (craft level 1) and their potency in certain cases (craft level 2).

  • How to design weapons, clothing, or potions?

To craft these items, you must navigate to your inventory in the corresponding tab. If at least one of your heroes possesses the necessary skill, you will gain access to the blacksmith’s workshop, the tailor’s workshop, or the alchemist’s laboratory at the bottom of the page. You will require various raw materials and experience in the craft to create certain items.

And to keep track of your creations, each item you create or each tamed animal will be associated with your character…

  • How do you level up skill professions?

It is through practicing the various crafts that you will hone your skills, while unlocking new items to create and making them more powerful. The guild bonus ‘Amulet of Knowledge’ allows for increased experience gain in all skill professions. There is also a potent potion called ‘Potion of Knowledge’ which allows you to benefit from the wisdom of the elders. That is, to directly learn from new recruits up to 50% of the knowledge of the most experienced members of your party in different crafts. A good way to anticipate the retirement or imminent death of one of your best artisans.

  • How do I change my character's profession?

There is only one solution: Level 1 learning potions (hunter, gatherer, fisherman, or miner) and Level 2 (blacksmith, tailor, trainer, or alchemist). The hero will automatically and randomly change professions, losing 50% of their earned points in the old profession. To avoid any surprises, be careful of your new recruits' starting skills before accepting them into your ranks.

  • And the specialization?

In cities, you can find the dojo, a place where an adventurer can specialize in the use of weapons, armor, or shields.

This specialization will make your adventurer more effective, but be careful, only if they use the item in question!

For example, an adventurer specializing in the use of a light sword will gain a bonus if equipped with a light sword, but suffer a penalty otherwise!

  • How does the character aging system function?

Everyone truly gets a chance to climb to the top of the rankings, regardless of their tenure in the game. A character aging system will complicate the lifespan of your adventurers and naturally contribute to the renewal of the rankings. How does it work? Well, 1 day in real life corresponds to 1 year in the game. That means that after 2 months and 20 days of gameplay (no offline aging), your hero will be 80 years old! And from that age, it’s possible that one day or another he’ll draw his last breath to make way for the new generation. But it’s not a fixed limit age, as the records of Fort-de-Val city show ancestors who lived up to 130 years and more.

To best delay aging, you can use youth potions (which will rejuvenate your character by a few years) or the powerful guild bonus "Cup of the Gods" which slows down the aging of one of your heroes for 20 days. You should also anticipate the retirement of your adventurers by training new recruits with the knowledge of the elders (using the potions of knowledge). Legend points also allow you to gradually increase the lifespan of your heroes (in age and in chance of reaching it).

Humans
Aging approximately 100 years
Wood Elf
Aging approximately 200 years
Grey Elf
Aging approximately 150 years
Dark Elf
Aging approximately 200 years
Atlanteans
Aging approximately 125 years

  • How long does an animal live?

Like everyone else, animals also have a lifespan in the game depending on their breed. It’s possible to know an animal’s current age by consulting directly your inventory, the red bar giving you an idea of how much longer they’ll be by your side. Unfortunately, it also happens that your companions are killed during a battle against another player.

  • How does the disease system work?

Multiple diseases have existed since the dawn of time in the Five Kingdoms. They are grave and often fatal, but fortunately, alchemists have devised a wide array of potions to treat them. Diseases can be contracted without apparent cause while traveling the world, inflicting bodily damage upon the afflicted each day until complete healing… or death. During combat, it is also possible to be poisoned by an opponent’s deliberately contaminated blade. Damage inflicted by a disease increases by 1% per day until it is cured. At most, a disease can inflict 30% damage per day, regardless of how long the character has been afflicted.

  • How does the item durability system work?

The condition of armor and clothing will degrade by 10% per day, due to the inevitable wear and tear of time and to best stimulate commerce. Once they reach 0%, these items will be considered junk and will automatically disappear from your inventory. The Guild bonus ‘Collector’s Chest’ reduces the daily wear and tear of armor and clothing by half for 10 days (that is, 5% instead of 10%). Potions, food, and various raw materials do not have a lifespan but are single-use.

  • How to attack another player or avoid being attacked?

To attack another player, you must click the ‘Attack’ button on the right side of the home page. You will then have a choice among a certain number of targets. These are players who are in the same region as you and who meet all other conditions for being attacked. After attacking a player, they will no longer appear in your targets until they have been attacked by other opponents, thus avoiding relentless pursuit. There is no limit to the number of attacks you can receive each day, but launching an attack will nevertheless consume an action point.

And something to know absolutely, the five cities on the map offer total immunity to those who are within them. The city guards thus make all attacks within the capitals of the five kingdoms impossible, but one must occasionally venture out to explore the world and conduct one’s affairs…

  • Why attack another player?

By the lure of gain, by vengeance, by the thirst for conquest, or simply for honor? The reasons can be numerous. In the event of victory, you will steal gold and one or more items from your opponent. You will gain reputation and experience in weapon handling (even for the defeated). At the same time, both belligerents will earn or lose points for the conquest of the territory in which they fight. If you manage to kill a hero whose head is put up for a bounty, you will receive the reward!

  • Why attack a non-player character (NPC)?

It is possible to attack merchants, bandits, and patrol soldiers throughout all regions of the Five Kingdoms. In addition to venting your frustrations and testing your equipment, you will steal gold and an item upon victory. You will also gain reputation, combat experience, and a few conquest points for territory. The cost in action points for an attack on an NPC increases with each use to naturally limit their utilization. This rate is automatically reset to its lowest level each day.

  • What are the differences between NPCs?

There are three levels of difficulty: merchants are easy to defeat, bandits put up a decent fight, and soldiers are formidable combatants. Rewards are commensurate with the risk, such as gold and conquest points varying depending on the target chosen.

There will also be random encounters, as monsters roam the Five Kingdoms.

Pay attention while traveling!

  • My adventurer is dead!

If he died of old age, he has entered the pantheon of legends... Glory to him!

But if death came in battle, then he will become a ghost... Always present among your adventurers, he can no longer do anything, but you can still resurrect him

Either with a resurrection potion.

Whether by going to the temple, or within a city. You’ll need to make an offering to pray to the gods. The higher the offering, the greater the chance of your prayer being answered…

  • How do you sell items at the marketplace?

To sell an item, you must click on the small icon representing gold coins in your inventory (corresponding to the item in question). You can set a sale price within a minimum and maximum range. You can significantly increase this bargaining margin thanks to the haggling bonuses offered by certain garments. And yes, a merchant with fine attire will be more credible than one with a soiled armor and a bloodied axe in hand, although it's debatable… You can also choose to offer the sale to everyone or only to members of your guild.

  • How do you retrieve a listed item?

To remove an item listed for sale, you’ll also find that option in your inventory. Section "My Items for Sale"

  • How do I purchase something from the marketplace?

You must navigate to the ‘Marketplace’ page and click the icon representing gold coins to purchase the corresponding item. Take advantage of good deals and beware of dubious offers (weapons or clothing in poor condition, an old, rickety horse, etc.). It’s impossible to craft or obtain everything yourself; mastering commerce is therefore essential for proper progression in the game.

Guilds aim to support each other mutually militarily and economically, forming a dominant power. You can either join an existing guild or found your own and embark on a quest to conquer the world. However, you can also evolve as a solo player if you feel strong enough…

  • How do I join or change guilds?

To change guilds, simply go to the Guilds -> All page, then click the arrow icon next to the selected guild. You can only change guilds a maximum of 3 days.

  • How do I found my own guild?

With a healthy dose of courage, ambition, and 10000 gold pieces, you can create your own guild. Simply click "Create My Guild" in the Guilds menu. Now, rally loyal and powerful warriors under your banner to write your legend.

  • What are the benefits of guild membership?

Besides sharing adventures with other players and having good times, your guild will offer you significant advantages. Guild bonuses, for example, which grant guild members powerful boosts (increased XP gains, easier learning, reduced wear, lower costs, halted aging, ...). And thanks to territorial conquest and control of regions, it's possible to receive a daily income. Members can financially support each other through gold donations (via the 'Guild' page and the 'Members' tab). Certain sales offers are only accessible to guild members, at the discretion of the vendor.

  • What additional functions does a guild leader possess?

Unlike a simple member within the guild, the leader has several responsibilities. They are responsible for purchasing guild bonuses with reputation points. They determine the diplomacy and construction of defensive structures on the territory (castle, fortress, citadel, etc.) using the guild’s common treasury (funded by its members). They can choose to approve or reject new member recruitment, delete internal announcements, change the tag color, expel a member, alter their rank, appoint lieutenants or a new leader. Lieutenants assist the leader in their duties, enjoying the same management rights as them (excluding the appointment of guild leaders).

  • How does one become the leader of their guild?

In addition to the ability to found their own guild and automatically become its leader, it is possible to take command of an existing guild. Either you are directly appointed by the current leader to replace them, or you orchestrate a coup within the guild. To do this, you need 10000 gold pieces, 10 days of guild seniority, and click the ‘Claim’ link at the top of the ‘My Guild’ page. Within the next 3 days, you must secure at least 50% support from guild members who also have 10 days of guild seniority and are active. Only members with that seniority and activity are taken into account. It is impossible to expel a player who has initiated a coup. It is advised to implement a minimum of preparation and communication within the guild to ensure a successful power grab. Political intrigue and passionate debates will be abundant!

  • How do you unlock guild bonuses?

The leader and their lieutenants can activate various guild bonuses for 10 or 20 days (they are all cumulative). These must be purchased with guild reputation points. To earn reputation points, guild adventurers must reach 100% with their own reputation bar. Conquered territories also generate reputation for the guild (up to 10% per day). It is also possible to gain guild bonuses in the short term by completing expeditions with members of your guild.

The game map is divided into squares, and each can be controlled by a guild (see all this information on the 'Guild' page and the 'Territory' tab). Each square controlled by the guild earns them 1% reputation per day (maximum 10%), as well as 2000 gold pieces per square and 6000 gold pieces per zone forming a larger territory (at least two adjacent squares are required to form a surrounded zone with borders. Loot is distributed equally among all guild members.

  • How do I expand my territory?

To gain control of a territory, guild members must earn a certain number of points within that territory (points earned appear on the 'Guild->Territories' page below the guild tag controlling the territory). To earn points in a territory, simply go there and fight other players and NPCs. The number of points required varies depending on the infrastructure present in the territory (100 points if the guild controlling the region has nothing built and up to 5000 points if they have built a Citadel). This is visible by hovering over the map with the mouse cursor.

If your guild controls less than 10 territories, your conquest points are doubled. It is also possible to earn more conquest points by activating the guild bonus 'Ring of Conquerors' or during the event 'Glory to the Conquerors'. To directly capture a territory (without considering conquest points), you must be victorious in the final battle that concludes a war between two guilds.

  • How do I defend my territory?

To gain control of a territory, guild members must earn a certain number of points within that territory (points earned appear on the 'Guild->Territories' page below the guild tag controlling the territory). To earn points in a territory, simply go there and fight other players and NPCs. The number of points required varies depending on the infrastructure present in the territory (100 points if the guild controlling the region has nothing built and up to 5000 points if they have built a Citadel). This is visible by hovering over the map with the mouse cursor.

To best protect their territories, guild members can fight other players to make them lose points. The guild leader also has the option to build infrastructure with the treasury funds. This increases the number of points required from other guilds to conquer the region. Without any construction, it takes only 100 points to take control of a region.

  • How is a territory claimed?

The conquest of a territory by a guild can occur at any time of day, as long as it reaches the necessary number of points or wins the final battle at the end of a war. It then automatically becomes the new owner, and all other guilds lose the points earned in that region. The defeated guild also loses the structures built in the region.

Nothing is fixed on the map, and any guild can attempt to conquer the world.

  • How does diplomacy function in Heroic Legend?

Diplomacy is managed by the Sovereign and the Lieutenants of each guild. The establishment of treaties and the visualization of external relations of the guild are available on the 'Guild' page and the 'Territory' tab. It is permitted to trigger a maximum of three measures of each type at the same time. As a strategic master, diplomacy will allow you to easily turn a situation to your advantage and reshape the political landscape of the five kingdoms. Negotiations and intrigue will be on the agenda!

  • Declaration of War

A war allows you to confront another guild and plunder its riches in case of victory (20% of the guild's common treasury) which will be distributed fairly among the participants. But also the possibility of directly capturing a region (regardless of conquest points) and expanding your territory! Not to mention the reputation gain: +10% for the victor and -10% for the loser. A war lasts 3 days, but it is possible to end it prematurely by offering the enemy a chance to surrender for money (and loss of all their reputation). The terms of surrender are set at the outset, but it is not mandatory to offer this escape route.

The cost of war (for the initiator) varies according to the difference in territory between the two camps. If you have less territory or the same amount as the targeted guild, entering the war is free. If you have more territory than the targeted guild, the cost will be multiplied for each additional territory.

At the end of the war, a large, standing battle takes place to attempt to capture (or retain) a direct opposing region (the location of the engagement chosen by the aggressor at the initiation of the war). You must be present on the scene at the end of the war to participate in the festivities (place your adventurers in the region where the battle takes place). If the attacked guild does not possess a region, there is no final battle to close the war.

To determine the victor, the conquest points of both belligerents acquired up to the final battle are tallied (gaining by mutual attack). Then, points earned during this infamous battle (which determines the seizure or non-seizure of the region and not the outcome of the war) will be added. A full report is available at the end of the war to detail everything. A declaration of war automatically triggers a commercial embargo and border closures (as well as the cancellation of any potential military support).

One of the other facets of war is the possibility of receiving support from other guilds through mercenary service. A guild that sends its military support can participate in the final battle and tip the scales in your favor. You can pay the mercenaries, but it is not required. Nevertheless, making a better offer than your opponent will attract more people to your camp… Only warriors (from external guilds) who participate in the battle will be compensated.

  • Commercial Embargo

A commercial embargo prevents the free circulation of goods. It is prohibited to trade between members of two guilds who mutually apply this measure. The sanction lasts 6 days, but the initiator can terminate it at any time.

  • Border Closure

By closing the borders, you limit access to resources within the territory. Specifically, intruders will be driven out of the region from time to time when attempting to appropriate your resources (quests, hunting, fishing, foraging, prospecting, and training). The sanction lasts 6 days, but the initiator can terminate it at any time.

  • Military Support

You can support a guild in a war during the final battle. If the guild in question pays mercenaries, it's an opportunity to earn money by committing to their side. The alliance lasts 6 days, but the parties can terminate mutual aid at any time. It is impossible to support both warring factions simultaneously.

At the end of the final battle (regardless of the winning faction), the mercenaries who participated in the engagement share the money offered by the guild they support. It is still possible to support a guild that does not pay mercenaries.
